Five members of FCCLA and Mrs. Johnson left for Tan-Tar-A on Sunday, March 20, to compete in the FCCLA State Leadership Conference. Today, each will compete in a baking or cooking contest.



Senior Jesse Pinkley has signed to play baseball for Fontbonne University as an incoming Freshman this fall. Jesse, who has played baseball since playing T-ball in the city league was ecstatic when he learned the news. Jesse said, “Being able to spend time playing the sport I love and being with my teammates” is the best part of playing baseball. While at Fontbonne, Jesse plans on pursuing a career in sports medicine.
On Friday, March 18, Miss Brinkley hosted an event where seniors could conveniently register to vote. Twelve seniors were already registered, but 30 more registered today! While registering, students were treated to pizza.
On Thursday, March 17, the CHS choir performed at Eagle Sky at the invitation of the Piedmont Area Chamber of Commerce.
Mrs. Burns will meet with seniors in the gym during 6th hour to discuss the end of the year calendar and important upcoming events. Additionally, Mrs. Burns will meet with grades 9-11 tomorrow to discuss scheduling. See times below:

3rd hour- 10th grade
4th hour- 11th grade
Makia Luke and Cordelia Elder Competed at the area 15 FFA Leadership development events on Tuesday, March 15th. Makia placed third in the job interview contest, and Cordelia placed third in the division II prepared public speaking contest. Both will now compete at the district level on April 2nd. Congratulations!

CHS Baseball and Softball teams began their season yesterday with jamborees at both fields. The boys won their first game and tied the second and the girls won both of their games. The next home baseball games will take place this Saturday when the Tigers take the field against Dexter at 10am and again at 2pm against Malden. The next softball game will be Monday, March 21, with Winona at 4:30. Come support the Tigers!
