BATTLE OF THE BOOKS!

CHS students are invited to sign up for the BATTLE OF THE BOOKS by Friday, March 4.  The BATTLE OF THE BOOKS is a Trivia Contest with general questions based on books, books made into movies, authors, etc.  THE WINNING TEAM WILL SPLIT A $20.00 CASH PRIZE.  The contest will take place during school hours over the course of a few advisory periods, depending on the number of teams participating.

CHILI SUPPER AND TRIVIA NIGHT, FEBRUARY 26

The History Club will be hosting a Chili Supper & Trivia Night  on Friday, February 26.  Food will be served at 5:00 pm and trivia begins at 6:00 in the high school multipurpose room.  To enter your team for competition, register online.

Costs are $6 for chili, toppings, and beverage; $10 per person to enter the trivia contest. There is no entry fee for spectators.  A prize will be awarded for the winning team.

PROSTART COMPETITION TEAMS HEADED FOR SPRINGFIELD

CHS ProStart culinary and management teams are on their way to join students, educators and chefs gathering in Springfield, Missouri for the Fifteenth Annual Missouri ProStart ® Invitational.  More than 150 top ProStart students from across the state will demonstrate their mastery of restaurant leadership skills in a fast-paced competition to win their share of a half million dollars in scholarship opportunities.  This year, a record 37 teams will be competing for those scholarships and the honor of representing Missouri at the National ProStart Invitational to be held in April in Dallas.

CHS WELCOMES AUTHOR/TEACHER TRACY HENSON

Henson Author VisitIMG_2104editedThe CHS Library was delighted to welcome Tracy Henson on Wednesday, February 17 to visit and discuss her new book, Forever Sometime.  Henson, a former Clearwater English teacher, presented the library and several students with a signed copies of her book, taking time to read excerpts and talk to students.  Mrs. Henson currently resides in St. Louis, where she can be found writing, reading, teaching, and spreading joy and glitter!
