CROSS COUNTRY ADDED TO CLEARWATER SPORTS
The 2018-19 school year will see the addition of cross country to the sports program at Clearwater R-1. Mr. Jim West will be joining the faculty as high school math instructor and will be coaching the cross country team. Several area schools have active cross country programs and a recent survey of CHS students indicated a healthy interest in the sport coming to Clearwater.

CHS student Kaitana Myers was recently recognized by the Daughters of the American Revolution for writing submitted in the Christopher Columbus Essay Contest.
STATE GOLF TOURNAMENT ACTION IN PROGRESS
Clearwater’s Brett Jackson is tied for 26th place after round 1 of the state golf tournament yesterday. Action continues with round 2 on Tuesday, May 15. See Class 2 State Golf Tournament Results
FREE SPORTS PHYSICALS
Dr. Toney’s office will give free sports physicals during the month of June only. Students must make an appointment. No walk-ins will be allowed.
BASEBALL TIGERS ADVANCE IN DISTRICT TOURNEY
The Tigers defeated Greenville on Saturday, May 12 to advance to the semifinal round of the Class 3 District 2 tournament. They will take on Malden at 4:00 pm today in Greenville.

Play begins in the Class 3, District 2 Baseball Tournament hosted at Greenville on Saturday, May 12 where the Clearwater Tigers take on the Greenville Bears in the opening round of the tourney at 10:00 am. Clearwater fans will get a full day of ball as play continues in the Class 1 Spring Softball State Championship Tournament at 4:00 pm when the Clearwater Lady Tigers host the Strafford Lady Indians on the field at Rotary Park in Piedmont. It’s a great day to be a TIGER!
