Due to impending weather, Fields of Faith will be held tonight, Wednesday, October 12, at the Black River Coliseum, 7:00 – 8:30 pm.

 Fields of Faith will be held on Wednesday, October 12 in Poplar Bluff from 7:00-8:30 pm in the new PBHS football stadium. Over 3000 were in attendance in 2015. There is no cost to attend.

Congratulations to Mason German, Amaya Keele, and Mia Gayle for being named to Quad State Honor Choir. The Murray State University Quad-State High School Honor Choir is selected each fall from hundreds of recorded auditions. Students selected from Kentucky and the surrounding states have a unique opportunity to study and perform a major work from the choral/orchestral repertory. Further congrats go to Amaya and Mason for their selection to the all district choir.

A new look is in the future for the Clearwater High School Library thanks to support from Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation (LCEF).  The project, “Transforming Library Space for School and Community Engagement” is designed to provide the CHS Library with an inviting atmosphere and flexible space that accommodates a variety of student and community-centered activities.  This flexibility will be possible with new shorter, mobile bookcases that will allow accommodations for book club meetings, author visits, and community events.  A new circulation desk with cabinet space will create a pleasant entry point allowing a clean line of work space to greet patrons and attend their needs.  Clearwater R-1 Superintendent Deborah Hand, High School Principal Teresa Smith, Lowe’s ProService Sales Specialist Jenny Sadler, Lowe’s Farmington Store Manager Tyler Walton, and High School Library Media Specialist Mary Bangert gather in the Clearwater High School Library as a check for $16,950 is presented to the school.  The grant announcement was made last spring and the project is getting underway during the 2016-17 school year.

Wear pink to show your support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and cheer for the Lady Tigers volleyball team during their PINK OUT game tonight at 6:00 against Bismarck.

 Congratulations to Clearwater’s own Teresa Smith! Our CHS administrator has been named as an “Exemplary New Principal” by the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP). She is being recognized Monday at the MOASSP/MCCTA Fall Conference in Columbia, Missouri for her exemplary performance among secondary school principals in providing high-quality learning opportunities for students. Way to go Ms. Smith!

The Clearwater Tigers play Naylor today in the OFC.  Game time is 11:00 am at TRC.

Students met outside Clearwater High School before school started on Wednesday morning, September 28, as they joined with more than 3 million students around the globe participating in prayer and worship.  The annual See You at the Pole event is an early morning, student-led gathering of students at a flagpole in front of their local school.  SYATP began in 1990 in the United States and is now an international event with students from more than 20 countries taking part.

Clearwater High School seniors are participating in TRC Preview Day in Poplar Bluff on Tuesday, September 27.  During this event, students will receive a tour of Three Rivers College, academic program overviews as well as information on financial aid.

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Friday, September 30 from 11:00 am. – 6:00 pm.  School will not be in session for students that day.
