PEPPERS ACCEPTED AS JAPANESE EXCHANGE STUDENT
Hi! My name is Sherry Peppers and I attend Clearwater High School as a Sophomore. I have recently been accepted to be a Japanese exchange student through the Youth for Understanding program. I received the Japan-US Senate scholarship, which is a partial scholarship. I am asking for donations to come up with my remaining tuition of $3,000 by April 15th.
I worked hard for this achievement. To be able to apply I had to have at least a 3.0 grade point average. I was top 10% of my Freshman class. I won 1st place in the local science fair and was the only student from my school to represent Clearwater High School at SEMO. I have been a part of FCCLA (Family Career and Community Leaders of America) for two years. I have been a local chapter officer and a regional officer for two years. With the help of Mrs. Christy Johnson, my FCCLA advisor, I was given the opportunity to apply for this amazing experience with YFU.
I am the first student from our area to apply and be accepted for this student exchange program. I hope this opens up opportunities for my fellow community students to study abroad.
