DONATE BLOOD… RAISE SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS
Donate blood on March 21 at CHS and you will help fund a scholarship for a Clearwater senior! The Red Cross Blood Drive will be held in the Clearwater High School Multi-Purpose Room on Monday, March 21, 1:00 – 6:00 pm and is organized by the Student Council. The need is constant. The gratification is instant. Give blood.

CHS STUDENT IS RECIPIENT OF CITIZENSHIP AWARD
Clearwater High School senior Sam Johnson has been chosen as a recipient of the 2016 Outstanding Achievement in Citizenship Award. Sam will be honored at a luncheon at the Capitol Plaza in Jefferson City next week.
Each public high school in Missouri is eligible to nominate one senior for the award. Students are selected for the award on the basis of their academic achievement in civics and government courses, performance in civics and government-related extracurricular activities and exemplary community service. Students also must submit an essay about the importance of citizenship.
The Missouri General Assembly established the citizenship award in 1990. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education conducts the awards competition with assistance and financial support from the Missouri Bar.
BETA SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS
During the State Beta Convention this past weekend, Clearwater’s own Bailey Roach was selected as a Beta scholarship recipient and McClay Lewis was selected as an alternate. Congratulations to both!

CHS HOSTS AREA SPEECH TOURNAMENT
CHS Speech Team members get ready to reveal the students who qualified for finals.
Clearwater welcomed six area schools on Thursday, March 3, to take part in the speech tournament that has been an annual event at Piedmont for the past several years. CHS faculty and community members judged events such as Dramatic Interpretation, Duet Acting, Poetry, Humerous Interpretation, and more. The host school cannot compete.

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS!
CHS students are invited to sign up for the BATTLE OF THE BOOKS by Friday, March 4. The BATTLE OF THE BOOKS is a Trivia Contest with general questions based on books, books made into movies, authors, etc. THE WINNING TEAM WILL SPLIT A $20.00 CASH PRIZE. The contest will take place during school hours over the course of a few advisory periods, depending on the number of teams participating.
