FBLA members from CHS (top photo) were caught on the jumbotron at Busch Stadium.  They enjoyed a Cardinal victory over the Washington Nationals after attending Career Day activities on Wednesday at the ball park.  

CHS students also joined area schools on Wednesday at the PBHS football stadium for Fields of Faith.  The national event gathers thousands of young people from across the US in hundreds of locations.  This was the sixth year for the event to be held in Poplar Bluff.

Set your calendar to play volleyball on Saturday, October 5 in the SPIKE OUT CANCER Co-Ed Volleyball Tournament sponsored by the Clearwater High School FCCLA.  Registration forms and $50.00 per team are due by Wednesday, September 25.  Make checks payable to Clearwater FCCLA.  All proceeds go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Forms are available in the high school library or online here:  Spike Out Cancer registration form

If volleyball is not the sport you play, consider putting together a team for 3 ON 3 BASKETBALL to be held at CHS on Saturday October 19.  This tournament benefits the Clearwater Lady Tigers volleyball team.  Details are included in the registration form.         3 on 3 Registration Form

2013 yearbooks are available now in the high school library.  Yearbooks are available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis.  Make checks for $40.00 payable to Clearwater High School.

Tuesday’s baseball game was a hot one as both the sun and the Clearwater bats blazed.  In today’s match up, the Tigers host the West County Bulldogs at 4:30 pm.

Today we have the opportunity to remember and honor those who have fallen. 
Those who had their lives taken.   Those who are left behind. 
Those who never knew.   Those who knew and chose their path anyway.

CHS students loaded up robotics equipment on Thursday and headed to Popar Bluff to attend an informative session with other area schools.  Last school year, the Tiger Steel Robotics Team competed in the First Tech Challenger at Southeast Missouri State University, qualifying as the first alternate for state competition.

With a full week of the new school year behind us, there are several clubs organizing in the high school now:

ART CLUB:  Membership dues are $10.00.  There will be a meeting sometime next week.  Details will be posted at a later date. 

DRAMA CLUB will be attending the musical performance of Legally Blond.  Tickets are already taken, but if you would like to join the club as a new member, dues are $5.00 per semester.  See Mrs. Henson for more information. 

FBLA:  A membership drive will be starting Tuesday at 7:30am with a sign up table in front of the business lab. 

FCA will be meeting for lunch devotions on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the FACS room.  

FCCLA:  If you are interested in joining, there will be a meeting Thursday during homeroom.

NHS:  The NHS Pool Party will be held on Thursday, August 29, 5:00-7:00.  Permission forms are needed to attend.  The NHS officer induction will be held on October 18 at the Zephyr Cafe.  Current members should sign up if they want to run for an office.
