In Science This Week
Mrs. Martin’s Anatomy Class is learning about the eyeball sensory system and dissecting cow eyes. (Pictures by Kloe L’Heureux) And in Biology, students participated in a Mammalian Dive Response Lab.

CHS FCCLA Members Win Silver
Five CHS FCCLA members attended the FCCLA State Leadership Conference along with sponsor Mrs. Christy Johnson this week. While there, each student competed individually in their respective categories: Kylie Glover and Ty Silvester competed in Culinary Arts; and Clurie Briley, Laney Briley, and Ayla Keller competed in Baking and Pastry. All five earned a silver medal! Additionally, they attended leadership meetings, our Lifesmarts students spoke at the conference about their upcoming Washington DC trip, and they were entertained by a hypnotist.

Jesse Pinkley signs with Fontbonne University!

Senior Jesse Pinkley has signed to play baseball for Fontbonne University as an incoming Freshman this fall. Jesse, who has played baseball since playing T-ball in the city league was ecstatic when he learned the news. Jesse said, “Being able to spend time playing the sport I love and being with my teammates” is the best part of playing baseball. While at Fontbonne, Jesse plans on pursuing a career in sports medicine.

Seniors Register to Vote
On Friday, March 18, Miss Brinkley hosted an event where seniors could conveniently register to vote. Twelve seniors were already registered, but 30 more registered today! While registering, students were treated to pizza.
