January Students of the Month

Clearwater High School is proud to announce that seniors Brenden Edwards and Kylie Glover are January Students of the Month.  Brenden is the son of Darci and Daniel Edwards.  In high school, Brenden has served on the FCA leadership team and earned 3rd place in the state Lifesmarts competition for FCCLA in both his junior and senior year.  In his senior year, Brenden’s Lifesmarts team won the wildcard bid to attend the national competition to be held in Washington DC in April.   Brenden has also been a member of FBLA, NHS, and Beta Club.  He ran cross country for CHS, earning both an all-conference honor and 7th place in the BRL meet.  In his spare time, Brenden loves to spend time outdoors fishing, hunting, and kayaking with friends and family.  His plans are to get a transfer degree from TRC and go to a 4 year university to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology.  Kylie Glover is the daughter of Octavia and William Easterday.  While in high school, Kylie has participated in ProStart, FCCLA (also earning the bid to Nationals in Washington DC), BETA, and NHS.  Additionally, she has been a member of FBLA, Interact, and served as CPA President. Kylie’s future plans are to attend ECCC for Culinary Arts and then transfer to MSU for a Hospitality Management Degree.  Kylie also plans to live in a school bus and work in the hospitality industry, preferably as a chef.

Tiger Ambush is Headed to Washington DC

CHS LifeSmarts team, Tiger Ambush, learned this week that they earned the wildcard spot and are headed to the national competition in Washington DC in April. Junior Alexander Chadbourne and seniors Kylie Glover, Brenden Edwards, Ty Silvester, and Clurie Briley along with their sponsor Christy Johnson are excited for this win and opportunity.

Teens from across the state first competed online for a chance to advance to the in-person state finals held Wednesday, January 12. Tiger Ambush came in third place, one spot away from an automatic advancement to the national competition. They returned to school where they completed a new presentation on the sleep patterns of teens which won the wildcard bid to nationals and impressed the judges.
