The 4th Annual Piedmont 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Kids Fun Run will be held on Saturday, May 3.  The 5K starts at 9:00 at the Clearwater Elementary with the Kids Fun Run immediately following.  Early registration deadline is April 18.  Proceeds will benefit FCCLA Scholarships.  5K 2014 Registration Form

District History Day contest was held at Cape Girardeau on Friday with a number of CHS students in attendance.  Clearwater students Bryce Alcorn, Haley Alcorn, Tyrone Carroll, Libby Chitwood, and Emma Roach took 3rd place with “The Right to Bear Arms” in the Senior Group Performance category.  This qualifies them for State History Day competition in April held on the University of Missouri campus in Columbia!

Instructor Jessica Sentell welcomed visitors as they came to view History Day projects at CHS on Wednesday evening.   26 individual and group exhibits were on display as well as one group performance.   

CHS History Day projects will be on display for public viewing on Wednesday, March 12 in the following classrooms near the cafeteria at 5:00 pm.

Clearwater High School sent 33 Beta members to State Beta Convention held in Branson over the past weekend.  CHS’s own Abby Schembra vied for the top spot as the Missouri Beta President.  Although not winning the presidency, Abby shined as a class act, as did the Beta members performing the skit.  Click these links for video highlights:

Mr. Silvester’s American History students received a special presentation last week with a Native American Dance performed live in the classroom!

After being out of school all week due to winter weather, Clearwater R-1 will be in session on Friday, March 7 with buses running where possible.
