SPORTS SCHEDULE FOR WEEK OF JAN 22

With inclement weather hitting some area schools with closings, Clearwater has adjusted the girls basketball schedule. Originally scheduled for Thursday, January 25, the Clearwater/Greenville girls basketball game will be played on Monday, January 29 to accommodate postponement of the Greenville homecoming to January 25.

Basketball games for the week of January 22 will be played as follows:

  • Monday, January 22 Clearwater vs. Viburnum @ Home
    Half of a JV Boys game will be played beginning at 5:00 pm.
    Girls Varsity will follow with the Varsity Boys game afterward.
  • Tuesday, January 23 Clearwater @ Doniphan
    Girls Varsity will begin at 5:00 pm. Full JV Boys game follows.
    Boys Varsity game will finish up the night.
  • Friday, January 26 Clearwater vs Greenville @ Home
    Junior Varsity Boys begin at 6:00 pm with Varsity Boys following.
  • Saturday, January 27 Clearwater Varsity boys vs. Valle @ TRC  2:30 pm

LADY TIGERS TO PLAY FOR BRL CHAMPIONSHIP

The Lady Tigers defeated Viburnum Friday night 55-54, earning a berth in the Black River League Championship title game. They will play at 6:00 pm on Saturday, January 20 against South Iron. The varsity boys will take on Lesterville for the consolation championship earlier in the day at 1:30 pm. All games will be played at Bunker.

LOCAL SUPPORT FOR THE CLEARWATER BASEBALL TEAM

Shout out to the CertainTeed Corporation for their donation of $825 to the Clearwater Tigers baseball team to purchase a new net for the rolling on-field batting cage! Athletic Director Shannon England and Tigers Baseball Coach Cole Sheets accept the check from Gads Hill plant employees Brandon Lashley and Ben Diesel. Baseball players Benton Lashley and Parker Montgomery were also present for the award.

MORE TALENT SHOW AUDITIONS

Due to illness and the cold weather, several interested students were unable to make it out to the Talent Show auditions this week. In light of this, there will be one final tryout next week on Friday, January 26 in Mrs. Montgomery’s high school classroom after school at 3:30.
