Representing Clearwater High School, these students are being hosted by the Megan Meier Foundation for an EMPOWER Leadership Workshop today at Maryville University in St. Louis.
On October 16, 2006, Tina Meier’s life took a devastating turn when her 13-year-old daughter, Megan Taylor Meier took her own life after being cyberbullied by an adult neighbor who created a fictitious social media account posing as a 16-year-old boy.
In December of 2007, Tina Meier, founded the non-profit Megan Meier Foundation. The Foundation’s mission statement is to promote awareness, education and positive change in response to the issues surrounding bullying, cyberbullying and suicide. The Megan Meier Foundation has led 16 Leadership Workshops since 2011 serving 9,000 middle school and high school students and school officials.
