FCCLA STATE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE POSTPONED
In light of issues and concerns surrounding coronavirus (COVID-19), the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has made the decision to postpone the FCCLA 2020 state conference and all of its associated events.
The following statement has been issued from the Missouri FCCLA State Adviser: “We are working with Tan-Tar-A Conference Center and other entities that are critical to hosting a successful conference to identify possible dates for rescheduling the event. Please understand that due to the evolving situation at hand, there is a possibility that the conference could be cancelled as new information becomes available.”

REGION 9 NHD CONTEST AT SEMO TRANSITIONED TO REMOTE JUDGING
Students in the Region 9 National History Day competition at Southeast Missouri State will not be traveling to Cape Girardeau with their projects as planned. Project photographs and papers will be sent remotely for judging. Students with outstanding projects will be selected for FaceTime interviews on March 23-24. Awards will be announced through a livestream ceremony at 2:00 pm on March 24. At this time, the streaming service/link is not known, but will be provided on this website, when it becomes available.
SPEECH TOURNAMENT POSTPONED
The district speech tournament, originally scheduled for Saturday, March 14 at Ste. Genevieve, has been postponed.
FINK WINS NAVAL SCIENCE AWARD; TAKES 2ND IN REGIONAL SCIENCE FAIR
DONKEY BASKETBALL GAME WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11 @ 7:00 PM

Make plans for a fun evening of Donkey Basketball on Wednesday, March 11 at 7:00 pm. Tickets may be obtained in advance for $7.00 from CHS seniors, Tequilas, and The Pit Stop or at the door for $10.00. Proceeds from the game benefit Project Graduation.
CLEARWATER STUDENTS, BOARD PRESIDENT PERFORM IN WIZARD OF OZ
Students and teachers traveled to the TRC Tinnin Center to applaud performances of The Wizard of Oz on Friday evening that included CHS students Ana Gayle, Amaya Keele, and school board president Robert Gayle. Curtains go up again March 13-15 with the final performance on Sunday at 2:00 pm. Tickets may be purchased online from Ticketleap.com or at the Tinnin Center box office.
BASEBALL JAMBOREE SCHEDULE
Clearwater High School will host the 2020 Tiger Baseball Jamboree on Saturday, March 14. All times listed are approximate. Each team will play a 4-inning game against the other teams with a time limit of 75 minutes per game. Each half inning will end after 3 outs or 8 runs, whichever comes first. If the time limit is reached, teams will finish the half-inning being played at that time.

12:15 pm St. Paul vs Jefferson
1:30 pm Jefferson vs. Clearwater

PROSTART MANAGEMENT TEAM RECEIVES $1000 PRIZE

A team of five seniors comprising the ProStart management team laid hands on $1000 prize money from the Missouri Restaurant Association on Friday. The check is an award for the team’s second place finish in the state ProStart competition held in Springfield recently. This is the fourth time a CHS management team has been named one of Missouri’s best, earning dollars for the school’s culinary program. ProStart is directed by instructor Christy Johnson.
