Kintz and Whitmer Selected to All District Choir

On September 24, Regan Kintz and Madison Whitmer auditioned for the Southeast Missouri All-District Choir at Cape Central High School. Regan was chosen to represent our school as an Alto in the 11th-12th Grade Choir, and Madison was selected as a Soprano in the 9th-10th Grade Choir. They were in competition with students from nearly every school in Southeast Missouri. Only twenty-five students were selected for each voice part. On November 12, they will spend the day in rehearsal at the KInder Performance Hall at Cape Central High School. That evening at 4 PM, the choirs will give a performance of various selections of choral repertoire from classical to modern. All are welcome to come and support our students at the performance.

As a member of the 11th-12th grade ensemble, Regan is eligible to audition for the All-State Choir.

Art 1 AMI Fun

Here are two assignments that Ms. V’s Art 1 worked on during AMI days. One assignment was to draw a far out, fantastical ceiling fan. The second assignment was do create a “nature mandala.” A mandala is a circle with radiating repeating shapes, and in this assignments, students were to use items found in nature.

Day 3 Winners

This quiz was apparently more difficult that I expected! Student winners with perfect scores were Jordan Patterson and Avery Morris. Faculty winners, also with perfect scores, were Mr. German, Mrs. Roach, Mrs. Alcorn, and Mrs. Mabury. Congrats, everyone! So here is the list of winners who need to see me tomorrow:

Students: Tommy Boshears, Ally Skaggs, Nattaly Lowry, Abby Cheney, Jordan Patterson, and Avery Morris.

Teachers: Lydia Mabury (twice!), Peggy Roach, Mason German, and Brooke Alcorn.

AMI Day 2

Congrats, Tommy Boshears, for winning yesterday’s challenge! Stop by the library when we are back at school for your prize!

Today’s challenge is like one we did last year with pictures from around the school. How observant are you? Take this quiz and see! Quiz can be taken until 3 pm! Best score(s) get a prize!
