TECH TUESDAYS

Beginning Tuesday, September 15, the library will offer after hours support to parents, students, teachers, and other community members. “Tech Tuesdays” is one component of nearly $9000 awarded in June to Clearwater High School Library by the Missouri State Library.

Every Tuesday, 3:30-7:30 pm, individuals will have access to dedicated support personnel. Assistance may include remote learning questions, instruction in using online resources, searching/applying for jobs online, questions regarding general computer use, and other digital issues. Area residents can get help on Tech Tuesdays by the following methods:

As schools pivot to remote and hybrid learning, and many community services transition to online operations to avoid COVID-19, the need for digital literacy is especially significant. In addition to addressing digital literacies, the grant project entitled, “Strengthening the Workforce through School and Community Engagement” will also provide career information, hands on entrepreneurship skills, assistance creating resumes, and more. The funds of $8,782 are an award through the “Spotlight on Literacy” program supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State. The project submitted by the Clearwater High School Library is designed as “part of a comprehensive program that equips youth and adults with digital and career literacies to help them become productive citizens.”
