Shout out to book club members Amaya Keele and Ana Gayle! Both students will perform in the Three Rivers College production of the Wizard of Oz, debuting on Friday, March 6. Seven successive performances will end with a closing matinee on Sunday, March 15.
Keele and Gayle will be supported by fellow students and teachers in the audience. The library will be open on Friday after school for students who would like to hang out until the bus leaves at 4:30 pm. A fast food stop will be made in Poplar Bluff before the opening curtain at 7:00 pm. The bus is expected back at school by approximately 10:45 pm.
All juniors will be participating in ACT prep activities on March 5, 12, and 19. This week, juniors with last names beginning with A-K will go to Mrs. Pauley’s room. Those with last names beginning with L-Z will be prepping in Ms. Montgomery’s room. ACT preparation will last 2nd – 4th hours. The actual ACT will be given on Tuesday, March 24, with the test lasting most of the day. All juniors that attend Career Tech will need to stay at CHS on these dates.
There will be an early dismissal of students at 12:20 pm on Tuesday, March 3 to accommodate the area academic bowl being hosted by the Clearwater Middle School. Teachers not involved in academic bowl activities will be participating in professional development.

Book Club members attended a special viewing of The Call of the Wildon Tuesday and then enjoyed some time at the Poplar Bluff Public Library.

An “Open Mic Night” event will be held at the Poplar Bluff Public Library on Saturday, February 29, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm allowing anyone and everyone to showcase their talents in music, comedy, poetry, and more! The library will be closed on Tuesday, February 25 as Mrs. Bangert and Mrs. Pauley will be taking the Book Club to see the newly released movie version of The Call of the Wildbased on the book by Jack London.
