FIRST FRIDAY BOOK CLUB MEETING POSTPONED TO OCTOBER 25

Instead of meeting on the First Fridays of October and November, the Book Club will be combining the meetings for those two months. School will not be in session on the first Friday of November and Mrs. Bangert will not be here the first Friday in October, so the next Book Club meeting will be held on Friday, October 25 and will include Halloween festivities. Members should read a scary/horror/Halloween type book and everyone is invited to bring snacks. A message on remind will be sent to members closer to the meeting date.

FIELDS OF FAITH WEDNESDAY, OCT 2

Fields of Faith, an annual faith-based crusade involving students coming together on athletic fields nationwide, will be held in Poplar Bluff on Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm. The bus will leave from Clearwater High School at 5:00 pm. Please pick up permission slips in Mrs. Johnson’s room and turn them in by the end of school on Wednesday.

FAFSA FRENZY TUESDAY, OCTOBER 8

The Clearwater High School guidance office will be sponsoring a FAFSA Frenzy on Tuesday, October 8, 3:30 – 7:00 pm in the business lab. This session is open to the public for assistance to parents and students who will be enrolling in college at any time during the Fall 2020 or Spring/Summer 2021 semesters.

FAFSA Frenzy helps thousands of Missouri students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid every year. The FAFSA is the primary form used by federal, state, and institutional financial assistance programs in determining an individual’s eligibility for grants, loans, work-study, and scholarships.

The new 2020–21 FAFSA application period begins on Tuesday, October 1. For priority consideration in Missouri, applications should be submitted no later than February 3, 2020. However, it is advisable to submit early and check with your particular college, as some institutions may have different school deadlines.
