Urban legend has it that Ernest Hemingway wrote the first 6 word story and won a few dollars for it. Supposedly, Hemingway’s story was:  “For sale: Baby shoes. Never worn.”  Although not necessarily true, it’s a good introduction to flash fiction.

Your challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to write an original 6 word story and submit it on this Google Form by noon on Monday, March 23 . All written material must be school appropriate. Students can enter multiple stories. Entries will be published here following the closing date. The winning author is invited to the library for a daily hot chocolate for the rest of the year (as soon as school reopens.)  Ready? Set. Go!
