It appears premature to cancel (go virtual) the awards ceremony. I hope this is not a preamble to attempting to cancel the actual graduation ceremony. These students have worked hard for 12+ years and deserve our efforts to ensure that they are recognized. You should include community leaders and representatives from various organizations and individuals who sponsor the scholarships in determining the date/time/manner to proceed. While it is imperative that we maintain an environment which is reasonably safe in this era of the Coronavirus, we should not act in an arbitrary manner without assessing the situation closer to the actual graduation date.
