Clearwater NHS students were dressed up bright and early this morning as they gathered to catch the bus to the Zephyr. The group will have breakfast, induct their new members, and play some minute-to-win-it games. To be in NHS, students must have a 3.5 GPA and demonstrate leadership and good character.

Book Club will resume meeting this month on Thursday, October 28, and will continue to meet the last full day we are in session each month. We will meet in the library during lunch and advisory where we talk about interesting books and promote reading—through things like displays and posts and reels. Dues are $5 and cover snacks and potential activities. Stop by the library to pick up your form soon!
This month, the Arts Building has been busy with activities. Earlier this month, FFA, under the leadership of Mr. Mabury attended Farm Fest in Springfield, MO. This is the Ozarks largest agricultural event with over 1000 agriculture and rural living exhibits. Students had the opportunity to visit with people in the agricultural field, learning more about the industry and recent innovations.
Also this month, students in Ms. V’s classes are working on the Art Club float for this year’s Fall Festival Parade. The Art Club always has an exciting float!
Clearwater High School is proud to announce that seniors Jordan McKinney and Lydia Mays are October Students of the Month. Jordan is the daughter of Holly Bryan and Richard McKinney of Piedmont, Missouri. While a CHS student, Jordan has been a member of Beta for 4 years, FFA and secretary of FFA for 2 years, FBLA for four years, FCCLA for three years, and FCA for four years. Additionally, she has been a member of Interact for four years, serving as president, vice president, and secretary. Jordan has been a member of NHS for three years, serving as vice president, and band for three years. Jordan has played volleyball for four years and has served as president, treasurer, and secretary of the Class of 2022. Jordan’s hobbies include reading and playing volleyball. In the future, she plans on attending St. Charles Community College and pursuing a business degree. Lydia Mays is the daughter of Jason and Amanda Mays, also of Piedmont. While a CHS student, Lydia has been a member of Beta for four years, NHS for three years, Science Club for two years, History Club in 10th and 12th grades, and FCCLA for three years. Lydia has also been a member of FBLA, FCA, and Interact. Additionally, Lydia has served as Student Council secretary and has played softball all four years. Lydia’s hobbies include playing softball, learning guitar, and reading. She plans on going to college to major in business, later studying finance and becoming a certified financial advisor.
Donating blood makes a big difference in the lives of others. Clearwater High School is hosting a blood drive that will take place October 20 from 1pm to 6pm. You may sign up one of these ways:

There are a few other bonuses. Due to the emergency appeal recently launched by the Red Cross, each donor will receive up to a $10 gift card by email. Students who recruit a blood donor will receive a pair of socks. And also importantly, Red Cross donates scholarship money to our school based on the number of donors! Make an appointment today!
On October 21, 2021 we are planning on a field trip to Perryville to visit Ranken Technical College. This is only for juniors and seniors. If you are interested in attending fill out the response form below.
There will be a short meeting with all girls interested in playing HS basketball this season on Tuesday at 12:20 PM. The meeting will be held in the HS gym.
Today’s baseball game has been postponed until tomorrow—same time and place, just not today! 3pm @ Three Rivers on Tuesday, 10/12. The baseball team will practice today immediately after school.
